I am a Smarta Brahmin from India, we have ancestral worship of Sri Shaligram in His Chakradhar form.

In Smartas all those are fit to worship who are initiated in Brahma Gayatri during their UPANAYAN SANSKAR.
So i am also worshiping Shaligrams and Narayan deities in my home (i am sending you the pictures of my Deities and Shaligrams as well in a separate mail)
but my PUJA PADHATI is not that of Smartas, i am following the PANCHARATRA UPASANA VIDHI, published by ISKCON. Although the Purusha sukta mantras are same but it has not included the famous Smarta Pancha Deva Puja. But thats OK for me, instead of that I am worshiping my acharya guru and Sri Mahaprabhu followed by Shaligram Shila Puja.

As i lived in Delhi so i am a frequent visitor to Vrindavan Dham, this Jhulan i went there and also went to Govardhan-manshi ganga, in the route to Radha Kunda Govardhan Ji is visible for some time, my driver in vrindavan who is a Vraj Vasi and a friend of mine was with me. As i go near Govardhan to offer my sastanga Dandawat to Giridhari ji i found a small Shila, i could not resist my self to take Him into my hand, i ask the Vrij basi driver is it possible to take Him, he told me yes but plz do Sewa n Pooja without any failure, so i take Him and a small Black Shila in to my Japa beed Bag.

here are some pictures of Thakur ji on Goverdhan Puja (a very humble puja done by me only, no friends, as they all were busy with Dipawali n their family, my family is in my home town, so no extended rituals n celebrations, just kirtan n japa done by me)...

He is a Black Shila, its looks like a mountain.

Sri Radha Giridhari ji, He is Reddish-Green in colour with white lines...the green colour is most visible during Abhisekha, it lost while He is dry.
